Comparative Research Designs and Methods is an online course offered by the Universita di Naoli Frederico II in Italy. The course is intended for individuals who have an interest in politics either as current students, recent graduates or professionals. To be successful in the class, it is beneficial to have some quantitative or qualitative methodological training; however, even those without such previous education can succeed in the course.
Lasting for five weeks, Comparative Research Designs and Methods is broken into five modules. Each module consists of a series of videos and supplemental readings. Quizzes are given to assess how well students have mastered the course material, and activities and assignments help participants apply the concepts covered in the class to the real world. The class will require about 4 to 6 hours of study time per week. By the end of the class, students will understand what systemic comparative analysis is and why it is preferred over other broad-based statistical methods.
